Sustainability Unit

The Sustainability Unit works to collaboratively develop, strengthen, and realise HKU’s institutional vision, commitments, and goals to integrate principles of sustainability into all aspects of the University’s facilities, operations and activities.

The unit currently consists of a team of senior sustainability manager, assistant sustainability managers and senior sustainability officers. Their works focus on the following aspects:

  • Maintaining the campus green facilities
  • Running carbon reduction, energy saving and waste reduction programmes
  • Delivering educational campaigns/events/activities to raise awareness of university members
  • Advocating different sustainability topics or initiatives
